Throttle Lag

Postby Tylan71 » Fri Feb 23, 2007 3:36 pm

New to the forums and just bought an 04 SLE V6 with 29500. I've read quite a bit about the throttle lag problem experienced by so many. I took my car in to a local Toyota dealer to have a headlight replaced and told them that I was having throttle/shift problems in an effort to get the ecu reflash. They told me that when they put it on the computer nothing popped up to be reflashed. My question is this: How do I know if I have the ecu reflash already installed (TC006-05)? I referenced the TSB and they pulled it and said I didn't need it. I don't know if there was any factual basis to this response or they were just blowing me off. Thanks.

When I had my ECU flashed, they put a sticker under the hood. I printed out the TSB (to a search) and showed it to the service manager and told them that's what I needed. Sounds to me like they don't want to do it. It's still under warranty, so you can always take it to another dealer.

like kingkayle said...their should be a sticker, usually on the door jam near they tire pressure rating chart/thing saying the TSB has already been performed. it could be they're blowing you off, who knows
