Toyota Oil Filters! Damn them!

TRD or K&N; any origin is fine (except Thailand), but I guess some people want hardcore JDM stuff on a car that's not JDM (don't get me wrong though... I dream of the day there is a JDM ソラ―ラ ). K&N, like someone said, is easier to deal with and known for intakes and drop-ins.

Just a question. Why will you want a "Japan made" filter in an American built car? My opinion is that as long as it is an OEM filter it should up to the standard of quality.

The "OEM" filters are made by Purolator and in Thialand. The Japanese filters are the best OEM (except TRD) quality, they have different part #s than the other non-sense OEM filters that dealerships get. Since the car has a Japanese designed engine, shouldn't it be a Japanese filter? I can tell the car was built in the US, it has some quality control issues on the body.

This recently changed to this new# 90915-YZZG1

Also food for thought. The LEXUS equivalent is a 90915-YZZD1, it is probably the BETTER QUALITY filter of the bunch.

Hope this clears things up. I sell a ton of these every day since I work at a Toyota/Lexus/Scion dealership.

How about for the I4 Solara? I just put the 90915-YZZF1 filter on mine (along with Mobil-1 10W-30). It seems that the dealer where I purchased the car put a smaller filter on the first free oil change. Is there a better filter for our 4-bangers?
