Lease Numbers

Postby Swordfish » Mon Apr 24, 2006 2:02 pm

Anyone here have the residual and money factors on the Solara 2006? I'm going to be leasing for 36 months and would like to have these numbers before I go into negotiate.

To answer some questions I have seen on this forum about leasing:

1. Always negotiate the price (Capitalized Cost) before telling the dealer whether you will be leasing or buying.

2. Always get the 15k miles, as it shouldnt cost you more than 12, if he gives you a hard time .. walk away...

3. Know the invoice and msrp before you go in.

4. Know the residual value percentage based on your term. You will want to negotitate this price as high as possible. THe dealer always tries to stick it to you with a low residual. Dont let him!

5. Dont let the dealer add bogus fees into the price of your car. Simply walk and give them your phone number, when times get slow, they will beg for your leaase...

Hope this helps someone

Residual is set by the manufacturer based on lease terms 12,24,36,48 and annual mileage. 12,000 or 15,000. I have sold Toyota's before and am currently leasing my highlander. You negotiate capitalized cost as you would sales price. Money factor is not set by the dealer but by the finance company. Check out leaseguide.com to show you how to calculate money factor into an interest rate as well as utilize their lease calculator. It's one of the best sites I've ran across. I personally stuck with a 3yr/36k so I'd be under bumper to bumper warranty. Also at the end of your lease you could try selling your car for a higher price based on the market, pay off the lease and keep the profit. If you can't sell it then just turn it in. Jon. p.s. if you want to know call 1 or 2 dealers and ask them what residual would be on the car with a 3yr/15k lease and you'll come up with the same numbers.
