Stock talk about the Generation 2 and 2.5 Toyota Solara which was released in 2004-2007

One more question...

...that I forgot to ask in my previous post. To all the Solara convertible owners out there...

How are your tops holding up over time? Just curious if anyone has had any motor problems or issues with the material.

I have known a few people that have had these types of issues (not with Solaras or Toyotas) and was just curious to know what I can expect.

Thanks for all the answers you guys have given me to my sometimes silly questions! 8)

Only problem I had on my '04 was the tension cables coming dislodged. This was a TSB item that was fixed in subsequent model years. Still looks good, still operates well.

A TSB, Technical Service Bulletin are repair procedures forwarded to the dealerships by the car's maker. Some problems crop up after the car was released to the public and these bulletins discuss what a problem may be and how to fix it and what parts are used for the repair. TSB are stored in a binder in the dealership. Many times these binders are thicker than the shop manuals. Having worked as a comptroller in a dealership, one of my jobs was opening the mail. TSBs came in the mail almost everyday! That's how common they are.
