Losing my solara...

Keep your naive ramblings elsewhere please.
(And please preface any opinions on military movements with your experience in managing or even existing in a war zone.)

Oh please ! If you believe that the military is better used in Iraq than over here in the US, you'd better go down to New Orleans and get familiar with the devastation down there. Or go talk to the thousands of people who almost died because nobody was sent to help them.

Don't forget that the defense secretary is a civilian; there's a reason for that. If you'd need to be a military person to have an opinion about the military, that would easily invite martial law, or at a minimum a military state. Not to mention that our last 2 presidents lacked any military qualification.

And before you flame me, yes, I lived and survived in a war zone. It's not something I want to talk about, but suffice it to say I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone. However, that doesn't give me any more rights to have an opinion on the military.

Now, getting back to the original subject: cablemn, still feelin' your pain ... so much so that I'm getting depressed now. Well, I'll just drop the top on my way home; that'll fix me up.

I know I probably shouldn't comment, but I gotta: "Hey, guys, shut up shut up shut up. But lemme have the last word." Haha, that's debating for you.

Thank you. That was very generous of you ...

The point is there were some opinions expressed here, but none of them attacked you as a person. However, when you call someone's opinions "naive ramblings" you attack that person, not their opinions. Frankly I don't think any of those who expressed their thoughts here would mind hearing your opinions on the issue; just don't call them stupid.

If you're still reading this, cablemn,--

Just out of curiosity, what kind of mileage are you getting with the Durango? I rember the old generation pre-Hemi Durango's were getting somewhere on the far side of terrible. I'm wondering if the Hemi Dakotas might actually fare better with the electronics and whatnot. Don't get me wrong, I like 'em for what they are, but...

A dark 4-door Charger caught my eye as I was passing the local Dodge dealership. That car looks sinister in Bad-Guy-From-Bullit Black. And you can be sure if I ever get one, then it'll be the Hemi version.

Gas prices are killing everyone, whether you're riding the Donkey or the Elephant....

We have a fully loaded limited with dual air and awd with the tow pkg.
The wife gets about 16 on the hwy with air on and about 18 with the air off. Around town it drops to about 13mpg. But the grunt on this car is like an aphrodesiac and i find i just cant drive it gently when i do get to drive it. Dont get me wrong i really like driving it. It handles well for a Big heavy SUV but the best part is the ride. It has a luxury ride to it, very quiet, and the ergonomics are very well thought out. But i still love my Solara better. It just works and runs so well now. And i still love the style of it. I like to be different. I dont like to drive wha everyone else is driving. The thing that really bothers me is that i take such good care of it, as far as parking and dings and dents, its gonna kill me to see it dented and scratched after a few months of my wife having it. Oh Well. :(

No, no crack on women drivers. I just don't drive the car enough
to compare my driving habits to hers. My wife is actually a very competent
driver. She is safe and smooth behind the wheel. The only thing i have to keep reminding her about is where to park so door dings dont happen.

That's actually pretty good compared to the old Durago's with the 5.2L engines, if I remember right.

As the guy in the commercial says: Sweeeet. :D
