Does CD changer read burned discs?

My changer plays store bought cd's fine, but when I play a burned cd-r on it, it will read the disc, start playing and at some point it will start skipping and give an error code. Is this normal or is it just my unit? The burned cd-r's play fine in my 2 home players one Pioneer & the other Sony.

I haven't had any issues. You may want to try another brand of CD-RW to verify that its not something specific to the brand you are using. For testing purpose make sure its a brand name i.e. maxell, imation.....

I've never had any problems with mine and I use several different brands of CDRs.

just burn at a slower speed, it doesnt matter what brand it is..

This was a problem with older cd players but shouldnt be an issue with this car at all. I had a delay in my 98 accord with crappy cdrs but found the memorex products were best to minimize the effect.

try using a silver backed cd as opposed to ones that are tinted blue or green.

This for me would be a major issue because I dont put many original cds in the car. I have a binder ful of burned cds. Id hate to have to replace my original cds in the event of theft or dammage.

burn at low speed wont' really make CD more stable...
it only reduce the chance of making errors during burning process.

using better CD-R or CD-RW can significantly reduce the chance of reading errors.
also, it reduce the chances of damaging CD-player, since cd-player's reading lense can focus on CD easier.

according to my experience and research about CD-R, beside the silver disc,
green disk will be the best choice for music disc.
Memorex, Sony, and Imation are selling green disc.
avoid to use blue disk, it's cheapest coating u can ever got on this planet.
TDK, the only company that i have known, is still making blue disc.

there is no particular good or better coating for CD-RW disc.
however, it is better to use more popular brand.
i love imation and memorex disc. their discs are very stable for my stereo.
