You can cite the fact the officer did not do a light test on the tint to prove it was 5%.

In Michigan, it's illegal to have any tint on the front window and side window with the exception of I think it's 5 inches around the upper edge of your side widows. You can have, and I will buy this when I get mine done, insurance from the installer. If you get pulled over, they will remove the tint before your court day. You go in, tell the court the tint is now gone, and most times, they will waive it. Drive right back to the tint place, and they put the tint back on for you.

It doesn't cost much at all. At a place near me called Sunshade, it's 8 dollars more, and the insurance lasts a year. you can renew each year. I don't really know a name for it, but if you call around and describe it, they might be able to tell you if anyone does it.

Go to court with the ticket. You'll win the case because of the fact that the cop messed up your date of birth. I was pulled over for my tints too in Philadelphia and I got a ticket but when I read the ticket he made a mistake on my license plate. I took it to court and the judge said sorry for the inconvienence and just tore the ticket up right in front of me. The reason why I won the case for the ticket is because it's a written government document and if one small error was on the ticket like they messed up your car color or your eye color or something. You win because of the error but if you don't want to go to court and all than just pay for the ticket.
