Scrapes

Postby dvdchris45 » Mon Dec 13, 2004 12:13 am

So the other day i was reversing out of the drivewat when I sort of scraped like hell on the right front bumper. Its not SO bad, but you can see it when you crouch. Anyone know what kind of touch-ups/paints are out there (I dont want to take it to body shop).

P.S. I've checked out www.paintscratch.com but its too damn confusing, I dont know what I need/don't need.

Thanks

I did the exact same thing and just touched it up with the Toyota touch up pen. All you need to do is color it once again. The white fiber glass can stick out at certin angles. Once you put the color back, you won't even notice it anymore.

I got a big scratch on mine too, I used Meguires Scratch X, washed the area real good, then used Toyota touch up paint. I got a real good tip from a service tech to use the handle end of a match. Just get a regular book of cardboard matches, and when you tear one out, use that end to dab in the touch up paint. You can also wetsand it afterwards, but you probably won't need to.
