FM reception

This has got to be one of the worst sounding FM's as well as having the worst reception of any car I have ever owned. Is their a service bulletin on the reception problem? Thanks, Jeff

i totally disagree on this

i get great reception i can pick up radio stations 3 hours away from the city on a clear day

some stations even conflict with each other at times cause other local cities use the same frequencies

Are your windows tinted or something, since the antenna is in the matrix dots, something blocking it may cause it get bad reception

There is a TSB for poor radio reception, I believe it mostly affects vehicles before April 04

I bought my car in Oct 03 and zero problems in radio reception or performance.

fm reception

I had not considered the window tint as a possible cause of poor reception. It did seem to get worse recently, although the cassette and cd player sound much better than the tuner. The frequency response of the tuner section is very rolled off in the highs.

It's your tint. I got 20% tint on mine, and I went from great reception to about 2-3 stations. I refuse to remove my tint, so I got XM and solved my problem. There is some kind of antenna adapter you can buy, there is a link for it in the aftermarket gen 2 section somewhere.
