Kid in his Scion Xb thought he was cool

uh oh

I am ashamed to call myself an 18 year old HS Senior. But I NEVER/WOULD EVER Rev anything that my mom gave me. If I ever did, I'd have to know MY car would look better than the person next to me. So if I ever lost, I'd still look good. HAHA. J/K.

Under $40K

Postby mmcdonald » Tue Sep 21, 2004 4:20 am

Now there are plenty of cars with way more than 225 hp and 240 lbsft for less than $40K, including the 350Z, G35 and Maxima.

My point was that there are better cars out there, as much as there are "worse" cars out there, and we are in the middle. And the middle demographic is not a street racer demographic. Everyone likes to punch it now and then, if you're in the middle.

And 25 years ago 225 hp and 240 lbsft of torque would get you laughed at.

LMAO...hahaha! Buncha foos...I would have laughed all the way home on that one....hahah :drinking: :drinking:

I’ve had similar experiences with “kids” in similar cars. But the best yet was the guy (at least in his 50's) who pulled up next to me in his black Mercedes SL600 (V-12 almost 500 hp) and smoked me at red light. Too bad I wasn’t even trying to race him, I’m not that stupid.
Anyway, I caught up to him at the next red light, rolled down the window and told him if he really wanted to race me to meet me back here at 9:00 that evening.
I think he was a bit surprised when I showed-up in my friend’s red Dodge Viper R/T-10. He refused to race, and I proceeded to rag on him about only having guts when he can beat-up on a car with half the horsepower etc. I think I made my point with him.

uhm, the 3.5 altima can smoke a fckn boxster, dont compare that to a solara..
why wouldnt you compare the two? arent they both approximately the same weight and size? arent they both v6s with approximately the same displacement? arent they both aimed at the same demographic? with the same amount of torque? they even have the exact same size rims and tires and they are both front drivers made in america by a japanese company. explain why i cant compare them?

My gf with her red 04 gen2 v6 sport, she said she had alot of experience that guys were honking at her and try to talk to her, while she still driving. Sometimes it might become chasing........but she smoke all of them.

I had lots of experience that had some rice rockets pass by me in opposite direction and rev at me. I still dont get what are their logic for this. Are they try to say hello or they try to race? Why dont they turn back and come to me?

I get that revving from the opposite direction too with my RX. It's usually from modded Prelude guys that don't look Ricey at all. I guess it's their way of saying hello or something. I just throw a peace sign.

But for Domestics that cheer my car, I throw a sicilian devil sign (rocker hand signal or whatever) hehehe. And then they go crazy, I still dont know why.

Hey xyntax...

Postby mmcdonald » Fri Sep 24, 2004 9:00 am

Those kids in their econoboxes think their car is fast cause it's all they've ever had. What's funnier is they think it's even faster when they fill it full of their buddies! Even if they can still go fast in a striaght line, they fall right off the turns and kill each other in droves.

Anyway, that rocker symbol (pinky and index finger pointing straight up, thumb out to the side) is the ASL sign for "I love you." (I = pinky straight up, L = index straight up, thumb pointing out to the side [like the letter L], and Y = the pinky straight up and the thumb pointing out to the side. Nice short-hand, so to speak.) The rockers are telling the band they love them when they use the rocker symbol, not giving them the evil eye.

Maybe that's why they go crazy. They think you love them.

An alternative sign is the pinky straight up and the thumb out, and rocking back and forth. That is ASL short hand for "me and you" as in the letter I and Y above, but the thumb pointing towards the signer (with the pinky up and no thumb this is the first person singular "I") and the pinky pointing towards the object of affection with the thumb out (short hand for the second person singular "you"). The rocking motion connotes "me and you... baby.")

The italian evil eye symbol is the pinky straight up and the index finger straight up, no thumb.

uh... I know that. I didn't even know there's a thumb in that sign and that it means I love you hahah! Now that's something new for me.
