Anyone know about Hankook Tires?

Anyone know about Hankook Tires?

Postby L8Apex » Sat Aug 28, 2004 5:39 pm

I'm looking at a tire/rim package that comes with Hankook Radial K106 215/50/R17 tires. I don't expect these tires to be top notch considering the price, but I can't find any information about them at all. They'll be used for spirited driving on the street in dry and wet, and need to resist hydroplaning. Anyone have any experience with these tires?

Never heard of them. I'd only trust tires listed on www.tirerack.com. That site has good ratings on all tires and pretty good prices as well.

if you are going to be driving on the road that requires the tire to be able to handle the load, don't skimp on buying cheapo tires.

just invest in better tires and have fun.

tires = the only part of your car that touches the road.

go cheap and you'll regret it, if you live to.

Actually, Hankook is a respectable brand. They sponsor a lot of drifting events and various other events. I am not saying that they are in the same league as Yokohama, Nitto, or Falken, but they aren't the worst you could buy.

I have some HRII Ventus by Hankook. A little loud. Good all season tire. Does very well in the snow and rain. Complete confidence in in up to 6 in of snow. I've had them on for a year now put about 20k on them should get 45k out of them at this rate.

Not the best performance tire. I got the tire because I was getting tired of new tires every 17k miles and changing to my 15 steelies when it snowed.

Ford was using Hankook on thier F150 trucks for a long time. Considereing their Explorer/Firestone fiasco,I dont think they would have used them if they were of poor quality.

hankook

Postby drock » Mon Aug 30, 2004 10:10 am

I had to replace one of my tires due to a screwy patch that was put on and I had a hankook tire put on the stock SE model. There is a little shake but barely noticeable. The dealer said that the tire i used to replace it with had more grip than the stocks. Now i want to replace all of em with hankooks.
