Solara Stock Radio - pre-amp out

Postby Topher279 » Sun Aug 22, 2004 8:09 pm

I was wondering if anyone here knows if the 2004 Solara's Stock CD player has pre-amp outputs on the back for running an amp. The reason I ask is it would be nice to find this out before I go tearing the dash board apart to look at the back of the Radio. If anyone knows, It would be great if you could let me know. Thanks!

i dont have 04 but theortically no car comes with RCA output, they have their own way communicate with the amp. either send low voltage or the amp will convert it to low voltage.

I THINK you need a signal converter if you need to hook it up to amp

Ahh, wouldn't that make things easier? But of course, most companies don't like you to play with their factory components, so, no, it has no RCA jacks. You will have to get a signal convertor that you wire into the speakers. Not the best way, but about the only way until you replace the head unit. That is, if someone would hurry up and come out with a damn head unit install kit....

I have a generic line-out convertor on my system. I had my amps and subs installed (leaving the factory speakers in the car, they're just fine) at a local stereo shop in Valencia, CA. They did a great job. I don't have the JBL stereo.
