apparently everyone's buying them
The first dealership I went to stated that they were firm on their price (SLE convert 04 with nav on the lot). I then went on-line and requested quotes from 4 other dealers. All responded back with they were holding to msrp. I then ran numbers using dealer costs hold back etc and put together a spreadsheet to bargain from (see Toyota Solara Gen 2 New 2004 solara owners... what did you pay
[ Goto pageGoto page: 1 ... 5, 6, 7 ]) I was able to get a 04 absolute red convertible with NAV, mats, ... for $2k under msrp. I also got the dealer to give me 4.35% for 60mths. I am expecting delivery in 2 weeks.
Oh by the way the first dealer called me 3 days later wanting to offer me a better deal that msrp.
The bottomline is all dealers will eventually try to earn your business especially if you are ordering a car. It cost a dealer finance charges which is charged to them by the manufacturer. fyi the manufacturer's practice is to give the dealer back the 1st 2 months of finance charges if the car is sold during that period. This goes towards the dealer profit.
