Heated Seats with the SLE

Heated Seats with the SLE

Anyone here having trouble with their heated seats? Mine don't work all the time, but intermittenly. Meaning I may turn them on Monday and they refuse to work on Tuesday. You get the idea. Dealer has checked it out, but it is still happening. Now I have two quirks to add to my list about this car. The stupid tire pressure light and now these heated seats.

Actually I have been having this issue when I got the car and that was in early April. You have to understand that the weather in Boston is not always pleasant and is frequently chilly. We have been having a not so real summer where it is often cold at night. What difference does it make if it is hot or cold outside to use heated seats? That does not seem like a logical reason to me why they would not work sometimes and work others. My friend has a 2003 Maxima with heated seats. They work all the time. Sounds like a defect to me.

Regarding the tire pressure warning light: my dealer has told me that this is going to be a chronic problem for all '04 Solaras. They've seen dozens of cars with this problem. Just try following the reset steps in the owners manual. Eventualy, the light will become a normal part of driving! But think about it: did your last car have this system on it? If not, then just check your tire pressure once a week just like you used to do.

well to deffend my point logic would say too me its too hot outside today lets say 80 + a heated seat you might cause harm to an elderly person say they left it on and forgot its hot outside they are sweating they sit in this hot seat they get even more hot they pass out and drift over 3 lanes on the free way taking out a mac truck hauling pipe that tips over while swerving to avoid mr heat exaustion and pipes go all over the road while other cars WITHOUT heated seats pile up behind.

hey im in toronto I havent been tempted to use my seat warmer since spring come on be a man blow a few farts and warm up the seats the old fashioned way.

Hey Shoe,

That's some...errr......interesting,...yes....interesting logic I must say. That logic seriously goes along with the other dummy proofing that come with car's these days along with traction control systems, anti-lock brakes, automatic locks that lock you out of your car, and others. I mean, come on, if we had people out there that could actually drive a car, we wouldn't need all that fancy crap that didn't even exist years back.

Shoe: i have back problems...and for me when i'm driving my ES..i keep the heated seats set on HIGH all the time. Even if its like 100 outside (like it is usually in Texas) the heated seats work..but then again, i'm talking Es..and Shoe was referring to Solara gen2. My logic dictates me to think that they should work regardless....Do you gen 2 guys have two settings like low/hight. switch it to high, cus low can take sometime to warm up..but then again, i'm guess all thats been tried and tested..hence your posting...

My SLE has two positions: on & off! Guess you have to pay more for the Lexus low/high version.

Say, doesn't the Nissian Sentra have a hi/low position for heated seats?
