What is the most ridicules item in the Owner’s Manual?

What is the most ridicules item in the Owner’s Manual?

Once in a while the questions posted in this forum can be answered by the Owner’s Manual. But some of the things in the manual cause me to ask “What the hell was Toyota thinking.”

The one that gets my vote is the one on page 300 (2004 Solara Owner’s manual).

Front fog, parking, front side marker and front turn signal lights.

Notice
Do not try to replace the front fog, parking, front side marker and front turn signal light bulbs by yourself. You may damage the vehicle.

What do the rest of you think?

Someone made a remark in regards to that BS in another thread, I just can't remember which one. I just don't understand why Toyota insists the owners not to change out their own exterior lighting, besides the fact that they want us to take it to the local Toyota shop and spend more time and money.

I agree with all said above, plus Toyota probably thinks the general public is just too stupid to change a light bulb if it also involves unscrewing a part to get access. So its better if you leave this to the "professionals" at Toyota and have your car sit at the service dept all day to have a light bulb changed!

In regards to Lexus though, they have HIDs, which should only be changed by professionals. But, yes, it's very silly that we cannot even change a light bulb ourselves. I can actuually remeber when my dad was in the backyard when you could actually work on your own car. Ahhhh, the good ole days. Now, everything is computerized that mechanics are clueless without having the computer tell them what is wrong. If it doesn't show up as an error, there isn't a problem, but it's all in your head. This is the mentality these days.
