Gen 1 Rear deck removal

Ok, I installed my new rear deck speakers and took some pictures to try and make a better tutorial on this, the only other one I found via search was a crutchfield set of instructions.

Tools needed:
-Socket set
-small phillips head for speaker removal
-any other audio tools needed (crimpers, strippers...etc.)

1. start by sitting in the backseat, and unbolt the handle, clothes hook, and seat belt. All circled in red below. (Do this on both sides of car)

2. Pull down the rear seats, removal of seats is not necessary tho. Run your hand down along the rear side of door jamb, gently pulling on the bottom trim piece. It should just pop out, its on clips not bolts. after that is loose, put your hand up under the piece above that and gently pull it out. Again its on clips. It will take some time and maneuvering but it will come out of the car with no excess wires, bolts or anything attached.

3. With these pieces pulled out, you should be able to just slide the rear "mat" with the speaker grills right out. just rest that on the back of the seat and change out your speakers.

Hope this helps, Feel free to PM me if needed.

That's what i did to install my rear speakers, and install my strut and springs. lol.
For the springs and struts you have to take out the seat belt brackets.

Thinking about doing this to aid in tinting the windows. Thanks for the writeup.
