changing dash lighting to LED

This will be something like a tutorial and I'm not responsible for anything that doesn't work out.
You can either go to autolumination.com or superbrightleds.com to purchase your bulbs.

At superbrightleds.com I purchased 6 WLED 5-LED wide angle LED bulb - Blue 0.75 and I think it was 16 T1.5 Instrument LED bulb - Blue. You will need to click on the 12V car bulbs, then go to the bottom of the page then go to miniature wedge base bulbs. Going down the page you will see the bulbs.

Need to take out the dash cluster in order to get to the bulbs.

The WLED 5-LED will fit in the existing socket. Sometimes the light may not come on after you put power to the cluster. In that case take the socket and rotate 180 degrees and try again.

For the shifting lights I used the T1.5 in the existing sockets . I did NOT change the reverse light or the O/D light in order that I would notice the change. I also did not change any of the warning lights at the bottom of the cluster. The only other bulb changed was the cruise control light. Basically I just changed the green lights.

This part wasn't hard to do but be careful of the traces on back of the cluster. Don't cut or tear the traces becuse it will not work properly.

Hope this helps.

Corky

I think he should've posted some pics here or at least put a link to his intro so people could at least see what he's talking about. I mean, tutorials should have pics right?
