Anyway....here's the question.

that rim is 17x7....bolt pattern is 5x114.3. THe problem is that my car is lowered.....

would I rub if i get 235/45/17?

I know Toyota wants you to get 225/45/17s....but im trying to save some $$$$ here. :)

Whats the best 17 inch tire size for lowered solaras? 215/50R17??

Many thanks,

Steve

I just got my 215/50/ZR17's in and they will be on the car on Saturday, but it's not lowered. You won't rub with those 17's for sure.

you will DEF rub using 235's. plus using a 235 would look awkward on a 7' wide rim.

that's what i've got, no rubbing at all and its closer to stock overall height than 225/45/17

i also got that size to absorb more shock delivered to my expensive a$$ rims!

It's all depends on the offset. try to stay between 38-42.
35-45 is the max limit.

I use 235, no rubbing at all w/ 38 offset.

i am getting 235/40/18s on my 18X7.5 rims tomorrow.
i have stock supsension, so i hope they wont rub.

as dav suggested, i moved from 225/40 to 235/40 to save my rims and also because its closer to stock and also because it wont require me to lower my car since they are almost 1/2 inch taller on one side (total 1 inch taller)

am excited for tomorrow.
will post pics soon

I can say that 18 x 7.5 with a 225/40/18 tein lowered will not rub atall :D
