Thanks for the input, I will go ahead and get it.

Did you post a for sale thread for the kit because I don't remember seeing one. I'm interested mostly in the front lip so if you see any lemme know.

Besides my leaking rack and pinion the car is doing ok. Have to get that fixed and need to do my front brakes by the end of the summer. Then I have to decide if I'm going to do my timing belt because I'm at 189K now.

Here bored at work, so I decided to update this thread and play my part in rejuvenating this board (yes it's dead)

Not much have changed since July but I have done a few things all the same. I finally got around to installing the short shifter from the Celica. The shifter now feels tighter and has noticeably shorter throw . I also installed an Exedy stage 1 which chatters like a mofo, a Kenwood excelon x996 single din with an amp and sub. I will post a couple pics up once I get home.

I have a million and one parts that I have yet to install, so stay tuneeeeed :D

Looking good so far;)

And just a thought from personal experience..
I fitted a Exedy Stage 1 and the mechanic i used put a std Toyota thrust bearing in, the clutch chattered like a bitch and slowly got worse,
the mechanic said it was normal for a race clutch to chatter....my A**...it lasted 7000km's and seized unexpectedly, then i fitted a matching Exedy thrust bearing and it makes no noise at all, clutch handles better and is still going 40'000km's later..and now i do all my own work..

Thanks bro. Did you install those 2mz cams I sent you ?

As for the clutch, that sucks because I ditched the TB that came with the Exedy kit for the std Toyota TB. So maybe I am having the same issue. What's crazy about the TB things is that all over SG and TN people say to use the Toyota TB.

Over the weekend, Flawless Performance were having their dyno day, so i took the Lara out for some baseline runs. She made 183whp & 192 wtq non-tuned with a Injen SRI, OBX Headers and 3inch Catback. My A/f ratio was very rich from 3700rpm to redline. Should be able to lean it out and make some extra ponies.

I was wondering if you resurfaced the flywheel when you put the new clutch in? This could be the cause of the chatter too.

Had a Exedy stage one in my ES300 at one point. Throwout bearing blew up i and went back to OEM. Trans went a year later and i still think it had something to do do with it.

I used the oem throwout bearing with the Exedy stage one, so I am not sure what's going on. Ppl seem to be having problem with both exedy and toyota's oem tb.
