Error code "P0446"

Error code "P0446"

Postby Benji668 » Sat Sep 06, 2003 7:24 pm

I have a 2001 Solara & engine light came on like a month ago. But it turned itself off a week after. So then I scanned it with code reader just now & this code "P0446 evaporative emission control system vent control circuit malfuction" came on. Does anyone know what this error code means?

Greatly appreciates, thanks.

A loose gas cap will throw a P0446. Clear the code and see what happens.

Hmm... that's alittle odd caused I re-tightened the gas cap but the engine light didn't clear out right away. Instead, it took almost a week to get it cleared by itself. Can someone explain why it takes that long of time?

It takes about 20 starts to clear on its own. 20 starts = 1 week.
