Thinking of going with the ACT clutch (TY4-HDG6)

So I've been doing some reading around on SolaraGuy, trying to decide what clutch to get. the Centerforce Dual Friction for the Scion tC came personally recommended. I should be doing my 5 speed swap sometime in March.

Browsing the ACT website, I think I found the clutch that will fit my needs perfectly. It's their TY4-HDG6 model (Heavy Duty Pressure Plate, Spring Centered 6-Pad Disk). It's rated to handle up to 499 torque and goes for a pricey $583 on their website.

http://www2.advancedclutch.com/products/clutchkits.aspx?prod_id=6385#6385

In the notes it says it's recommended for road racing and "high power Street," and says the clutch pressure should feel stock to moderate and that it should be quiet and somewhat smooth. Those are important to me because it's my daily driver.

I'm at 5.5 psi and will be bumping up to 6psi, maybe even 7psi with a 3mz hybrid swap (eventually) so I think the clutch being able to handle 499 torque sounds like it's right in my range.

If you have any suggestions, please do let me know what you think!

I just installed this clutch a few months ago. Re-machined the stock flywheel and used a new OEM throwout/release bearing. I'd say its a bit chattery, and i'd describe the engagement as midly harsh. Took a few weeks to get used to the feel, and now i can engage it a lot smoother during normal driving. Make no mistake, this IS a performance clutch. Dont expect it to feel/sound like your OEM - thats not the reason to buy a 6-puck. Daily driving is no problem; thick traffic (creeping fwd in 1st gear then stopping) is not fun, but certainly not bad enough to wish i never bought it. Its absolutely great at the drag strip! Im currently only at 4psi, and it can def take way more than what im throwing at it!

Anyone have any suggestions on a clutch comparable (possibly more affordable as well) to the TY4-HDG6 mentioned above?

Several people on here have had good things to say about the Clutchmasters set up. Hopefully someone that has one can chime in with specific feedback and pricing info...
