noticed my timing belt has started to make some noise and was wondering if there is a specific one you guys recommend for any purpose whether it be power gain or any advantage

also i am low on coolant and was wondering if just any 50-50 antifreeze and water would work

i was thinking the same thing. i also read that you should only use the toyota red coolant, it was somewhere on this forum, sorry dont have time to search for ya, but if it was me, i'd use the red just to be safe.

i personally would just get some from youtr local toyota dealer, really something i dont wanna skip out on. Its like $26 for a gallon at the dealer, but get the right coolant or risk screwing up your cooling system and spend some big $$$

Pick up some distilled water as well, since the Toyota coolant needs to be mixed 50/50 with water, according to my friend who is a Toyota Tech. Also do yourself a favor and get the OEM timing belt. Might as well replace the water pump while you are in there, in case you get the belt done and it needs a water pump a month later. Good luck!

dang i think i need to do belt as well. mine also started making a bit of noise.
im thinking of doing this myself but damn its cold out and no garage right now
wonder if i can wait until spring?

anyways as for the coolant... buy one thats premixed and safe to mix for all colors. around $20 sometimes. its ok to mix red with green as long as its one of these types

well to each there own, i personally dont want my coolant looking like dookie, so i just use red. and i would price the belts and pump at autozone or advance auto even if your not buying there just to get an idea of prices.
