Is it a good idea?

Hey y'all,

So after a month of having the car, I'm thinking about lowering the car now. I've searched a lot but couldn't seem to find a specific answer...

So I know that y'all suggest to change the struts at the same time than the springs. Some of you changed the spring only and the car becomes more bouncy but it's drivable.Since I'm short on money, I'm thinking about putting Eibach lowering springs but only changing the front struts to KYB. I'm keeping the original rear struts since there's rarely people in the back of my car. Does it sound safe/good?

advices would be appreciated

If your lara has the stock SE shocks (as opposed to the SLE), you'd probably be able to get away with it. If you're lucky, you can re-use those strut mounts. I assume you will want to replace all the struts eventually. Personally, I'd wait to save up and just do all of the struts at once when I have the money since it'll be cheaper to do the labor once in the rear instead of twice.

well the thing is for the front struts they are not that hard I can do them by myself...

And Corlon do you mean to replace strut mounts by OEM ones?

So after all it's OK to keep the rear OEM struts with lowering springs?

Don't be a brokedick, and keep saving until you can afford to buy new springs, new struts, and new mounts. It will be worth it, just need patience. If you haven't added a rear sway bar yet, do that also.

Hmmm... is it OK tough if I only replace the front struts to KYB and keep the rear OEM struts? Any more advices? Thanks.

Seconded.

You'll appreciate the savings in time and money in the end.
