first off thanks for the help with the questions i had before. I have another and figured it should be a different thread. the current coilovers are very much used, and after another attempt last night the damn bottom nut still wouldnt budge. no matter i could get it off some how but it got me thinking. the current setup is 7k(f) and 5k (r). these were only used on 4cyl cars till mine and were ordered by the origional owner to compensate for the reduced weight up front. even when i had jsut gotten these the ride in the front seemed a little soft over bumps at high speeds. so i ask....

what would be a better setup, the stock 9/5 or the 7/5 i have now? im contemplating just buying a new set. and starting fresh.

Considering they're used, I wouldn't discount the fact that the struts could have already been on their way out.

My JICs were 7/5 and they were stiff at ~15K miles and did get softer up until the point they blew.

And I would go 9/7 because it should give the car a better handling characteristic because the rear is a bit stiffer.

JIC will credit you something towards the new C/O's but, don't count on too much. and mine are 8k/6k

My JIC's are 8k/6k also and its pretty damn stiff with the front dampening half way and the rear at its softest.

i'm going 13F 11R....which i'm installing hopefully in a few days

tony the tiger is running 15F 18R or something close to that

i truely believe u need more than 10 to fully support the heavy front end well.

youre right, you do need more than 10, my next setup im going to try 18f 11r
although this is for an es300, id imagine it to be similar to camry and solaras.
