Whiteline Sway Bar Question

Whiteline Sway Bar Question

Postby vman5911 » Thu Dec 03, 2009 8:57 am

Would this whiteline sway bar fit the 2000 Solara SLE V6?

http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_det ... mber=BTR39

I'd prefer to go with the TRD, but I know those are discontinued.

Thanks

Personally i would go wit the TRD RSB, you can still find them online.
Check wit Reggie, he should be able to hook you up wit one.
I think the TRD RSB on track settin' is "thicker" than the Whiteline rear sway bar.

whiteline is the best swaybar, 20mm compared to 19.1mm from trd, go with the whiteline, its the better bar.................... :drinking:

^ is the whiteline adjustable though? If not, the extra adjustment might be worth it, since .9mm is next to nothing.

G'day everyone,

Hope you don't mind us popping in to help here but just wanted to confirm that BTR39 in 20m is still a good number and is catalogued to suit Toyota Camry MCV20-SXV20-SXV23 97-02 and A-MCV30R 01-06. Not sure how that relates to the Solara range but we'd be happy to do add it in to the catalogue if we knew for sure.

The adjustable version of the TR39 series is no longer available unfortunately. Please let us know if we can do anything more to help.

Cheers

Whiteline Jim,

That model will also work for the MCV10/VCV10/SXV10.

The Solara Chassis code is the same as the 97-01 Camry (MCV20/SXV20) and the bar fits it.

It would be quite a trick if you could see a 3/100th of an inch difference by just looking at two sway bars. But I'm just messing with you- whiteline makes great stuff. I had a Whiteline RSB on my gen 3 and loved it, no complaints.

I think that 1mm would actually be a fairly substantial difference. It's a 5.26% increase in diameter which would equate to more stiffness. And it's definitely enough to notice during visual comparison.

It would be cool to have another option for an adjustable RSB.
Especially since the TRD seems to have been disco'd. But I wouldn't be very interested in losing the adjustability of the TRD unit. I live in a snowy climate and it's nice to be able to soften the bar in the winter.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

All I was getting at was that 0.9 mm is equal to 0.035 in. If I split 1" into 100 pieces, I don't think I personally could see the difference visually- that's all I was saying. It doesn't even matter really, I shouldn't have said anything.

i had gregtrd change my trd bar to a whiteline bar. laying on the ground side by side you can see the differance . the whiteline is configured a litte differant at the ends . looked as if the bar would contact the struts . after putting the car on the ground there was plenty of clearance.
