Who has 4th Gen Camry AND 1st Gen Solara Control Arms?

Postby TMMK Toy » Mon Sep 07, 2009 9:50 pm

Ok, to clarify, wondering who has in their possession a set of 4th gen camry or 1st gen solara control arms? I have been wanting to know something for quite a while and hope someone here has access to both of these parts. Wondering if there is any difference in weight between the two.

Supposedly I have read that solaras use aluminum control arms and camrys use cast iron. However, I may have this reversed. This would lead me to believe the aluminum arms would be lighter and thus be a good upgrade for a Camry owner such as myself. I do know for a fact they are different as I went to the dealership and my parts guy showed they have different part #s but has no clue what the difference is. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this matter for me

Thank you, Gabe!!!! Now to be picky, but have you ever weighed em to see how much lighter? And the solara ones should bolt right up, right?
