what's up. I just got my moms 2000 2.2l 5spd. I'm from a family of musclecar lovers but I had to snatch up the car. It's got 300,000 miles on it and is dumping oil into the plugs which works cause I'm pulling it apart and workin from the ground up. Was lookin for help on some ideas on internal pieces I should use. Well, any pieces period to use. My goal is to eventually has 500 @ the wheels but keep the 4 cyl. Sorry if it takes me a lil time to get back. gotta do it off my iPod n I'm just plain slow at it. Thanks for the help.

Until the head gasket went it was still running great. Only had to replace the water pump and clutch since it was new. Yea a turbo will def. be onboard. Figures since I've almost got the engine pieced I'll be able to beef it right all the way through

Yeah, there is NO way in hell you could get 500@the wheels without forced induction. The 5sfe (what you have) can't handle any more than 10 or so PSI of boost before it begins to wear down and eventually blow. You'd be better off swapping in a 3GTSE, but if you have the time and $$$ You can build up your 5Sfe using these components:

- Low compression Forged Pistons (http://www.cppistons.com/)
-3gtse Eagle rods (crank journals will have to be ground down 2mm)
(http://www.turbochargers.com/store/prod ... ts_id=1777)
-Full stand alone EMS (http://www.aempower.com/)
-460cc or larger injectors
-High flow fuel pump (walbro will be your best bet)
-2-3mm larger valves (head will have to be machined)
-Double valve springs with titanium retainers
-larger throttlebody
-Custom intake manifold will have to be fabricated
-Upgraded oil pump or dry sump
-Might need to upgrade from your current S54 5spd tranny, to the E153 5sp. (you will need to use your existing S54 flywheel and pressure plate.)
-Aluminum radiator and oil cooler (ebay is full of these)

Thats just what I come up with off the top of my head. I Know there are many more components I left out, that you will need.
Good Luck

Thanks. That's a great starting list for me. We'll see how close I can get it to my goal. I'm gonna b pulling off as much extra weight I can to help it move. Wanna try and clean up and sell what's comin to help some. Has anyone heard anything or have experience running the coatings on the pistons?

If you wanna do weight reduction, start by removing the back seats and spare tire. That'll free up another .001 seconds off the 1/4 mile time lol
....I know the 1mz-fe (v6) engines have a anti-friction resin coating on the pistons. Im pretty sure it has worn off my pistons by now (130k miles)
