i think 19's might rub w/o fender rolling

but i'm still on stock.....so you may want to double check that before committing to 19's

What's ur suspension setup ? if ur spring/shock are stock then it will fit ok ? this pro guy told when we were testing.

Yep yep, i did a test on wheel fitment, 225/45/18 = exactly fit to gen1 stock wheel 205/60/16 with all stock suspension, if u lowered, cant.

Rim 19 will get rub, unless tire is 30, 225/30/19 and ofcourse stock suspension.

Oops, I'm running 40 series, not 50 series tires.

235/40/18 front, 225/40/18 rear.

on 19" wheels you should run either 225/35/19 or 235/35/19 to get close to stock. 30 series it too little.

Dont forget width of your wheels will plan a big facter in the tire size you run.

i've gone thru so many sets of wheels and tire combos in my solara's past..

As you have gone thru many sets of wheel/tire, which one is bestest for 18 rims with Stock Suspension 225/40/18 or 225/45/18 ?

PS: i dont want the rubbin issue to happen aswell.

rubbing issues is going to depend on the size wheel and offset your are going to run. with 225/40 or 225/45 you shouldn't have problems since you are increasing the side wall size. Not the width of the tire. I would say stick with 225/40 if you are going to be concerned with clearance issues.

example would be if you are running a 18x7.5" wheels with a +40 to +42 offset and a 225/40 tire you will not run into rubbing issues on both stock and lowered suspension.

8" +45 is sitting pretty close to the strut...

I would use a 5mm spacer to push the rear out and run a 225/35 tire or 235/35 tire.

throw a 10mm spacer on to push it out to +35 offset. If you want to be sitting flush without doing too much modding.. a light fender roll would help with rubbing.

if you want a more aggressive approach with a 8" wide wheel, If it were me I would put a 20mm spacer to push it to +25 offset and run a 225/35 tire that has a natural curved side wall like the Dunlop DZ101's do or Toyo t1r's.

Just as example I am running 8.5" wide all around however I have a +25 offset in the rear and a +40 offset in front running 225/45 falken 912 tires without any spacers and I get a little rubbing in the back if I hit big bumps. I am also cut ALL the way to the edge on my rear fenders with a slight pull with my fender roller. I was previously running a 215/45 tire but changed when I needed to get new tires.

I also rub in the back due to the fact that I am on JIC coilovers and I am DUMPED. I have no gap in the front or back. rear tire tucks when I have ppls in the back. My drop is about 3" as of right now. I may be going lower in the front once i get things adjusted.
