autostart?

I know having an autostart is a nice feature, I actually planned on getting a slightly expensive one in June, but I happen to get a brand new one for $20 the other day and I want to know if you guys think I should have it installed or sell it, the link to the product is below

I have something similar to this, just without the Lock/Unlock and I been wondering if I should install it or not. The main thing stopping me is too many remotes. Has anyone had any problems with these "cheaper" models? I have 3 DEI remote starters like this laying around the house.
are avalons supposed to be this fast?

Not bad for $20. I say install it. I love my remote start!!! 8)

I bought the SRT 9000 by Code Alarm. It wasnt cheap at all, after extra mods and install $600.
I know what your thinking, :o $600 for an alarm.
This thing is bad ass though. Ive posted a couple threads about it.

1 mile range
remote start w/garage door open option
windows up/down
interior trigger sensor (when the windows are down)
telematics (control my Solara anywhere in the USA w/touch tone phone)
2 stage door unlock
door pop (when I shave my doors)
starter kill
multiple vehicle operation
temp start
turbo timer (when I get a turbo)
daily time start
quick stop (leave it running and I can take the keys with me)
car jack mod (hold two certain buttons for 2 sec and disables car 20 sec after he drives off with my car)

personally i say not to.. cause you should have a remote with a screen (2 way paging)

that way you know if your car is on. if you have a remote with out 2 way page you might start you car and not know it...

but up to you..
its a good feature

I say if you are going to go with an idea like that you should definetely get something with a screen to inform you if your car is locked/unlocked, or on.
Thats just to be on the safe side man. Just imagine you turned in on by accident and when you come out looking for your car its long gone becuase someone saw it on and hoped in and took off.

Don't you usually need a key in the ignition to actually put it in gear and drive it off? That's how most remote start worked I thought.

If you attempted to put it in gear without a key, the engine would just stop.

well if you put the starter kill (i think) .. if the car is on without the key then it should die out within so many feet or the steering wheel should lock up.

^^^yeah, I forgot to mention that mine is 2 way paging w/screen. A screen helps but most remote starts require you to press the button twice within a sec or two for the vehicle to start. If for any odd reason that does happen and you dont know its running they are programmed to only run for a certain amount of time. Also when you do remote start it, nobody can get in your car and take off. You hit the brake the car shuts off. Mine stays armed while running, but even if it is running unarmed with doors wide open they still couldnt get it and take off.

Even if they had my key they couldnt take my car. they need my remote too. Once you put the key in and turn the remote tells my car its ok to drive. Now if im in range and for some strange ass reason my doors are open and they have my key. My remote tells my car its ok to drive, but Im not in it. I can turn it off with my remote.

Even more extreme case. Somehow, somebody gets my remote and key. Lets say I dont even know they have it either. I realize my car and remote and key is gone. I can use my cell phone to disable my car with the telematics mod. The telematics mod is what really sold me.
