brake problems need ya'lls help!

so i haven't been posting in a while, just moved to a new city and stuff so getting settled with jobs and school but i just had some brake issues i need ya'lls help with..

ok so let this is my setup: hawk hps street pads, brembo blanks, and stainless steel lines. i installed all this about 2 months ago...

ok so starting yesterday i would put my foot on the brake pedal and it would slowy depress until my foot would be all the way down on the ground. so today same thing was happening but i got to work and couldn't worry about it. i left work and my brakes weren't working at all and i almost hit this guy so i ripped the ebrake and avoided collision and ended up pulling into an auto place. this dude was cool and topped my fluid off but the brakes still depressed all the way. so they became a little firmer, enough for me to get home. so i think that i may have a leak becasue the fluid is back down to the minimum...

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because im very financially limited at the moment. if it's a leak then how would i locate the source of it? i just need to do as much as possible in order to save money so please help me out here

only thing I can think of is check the fittings/connections of the brake lines you installed. might be the cause of the leak. you could also check the hoses in the engine bay connecting to the fluid resevoir.

id start by checking the condition of the rubber grommets on the pistons of all 4 calipers, also check the condition of the rubber that plugs the bleeder on the caliper. those wont give you total leakage, but over time you could lose significant amounts of fluid, plus its a fast, easy, and cheap (free) inspection, also did you have your brakes bled after you installed the lines 2 months ago?

check all four corners and around the master cylinder closely for leaks. brake fluid will leave enough of a mess that it'll be noticeable. if all that looks straight you can either a. start bleeding the system on the chance that'll help or b. take it to a shop to use their power flush machine on it. there is the dreaded possibility of an internal leak on a caliper or worse the m/c but i'd be surprised if that were the case on any car as young as a lara let alone a toyota. also, that machine they use on your brake system will make any leak apparent as it puts some strain on the system.

yeah i bled the brakes after install and everything worked fine, ill check all the connections and m/c in the morning, if nothing checks out i guess ill have to take it the shop thanks guys

xh0rnsb0yx, can you tell me if your Hawk pads are working well for you? I recently put them on the front of my car, got the rotors resurfaced too, but it seems like the pads aren't really biting very well when cold. Don't know if you have the same problem.

they need a brake in period to "mate" with the rotor. give it 500-1000 miles depending on where you drive and how you drive and it should bite pretty nasty.
