JIC Coilover Squeak Noise

JIC Coilover Squeak Noise

Postby lightear » Mon Oct 06, 2008 11:13 am

Gentelmen,

Need your help. Just installed almost brand new JIC ALT-F1 coilovers (thanks to Steve) on my car on Saturday and noticed intensive squeaking. Not the type of clanking noise but the type where when you hear like squeegy plus air flow noise.

My original guess that I pulled out of my butt was that it was just the sound of the gas moving inside the coilover chamber, but that's a stupid guess. I'm just explaining what it sounds like.

I remember hearing it could be the noise from pillowball mounts, but I'm talking noise everywhere I go. On the road, on the freeway whenever there's a minor bump (which is everywhere) you can just hear it go squeegy-squeegy.

Guys know what i'm talking about? and any idea on how to resolve this?

Thanks for reading.

I thought it was the Coilovers dampening itself when your hit bumps. but i could be wrong. Im new at CO's as well.

i have a similar issue.. when it drops below ~68 degrees here in Va, if i go over bumps/speed bumps my rear suspension squeaks in the same manner. It sounds like the tires are rubbing, but i know they're not. Checked the bushings for my sway bar, plenty lubed, still tight. Any ideas?
