Suspension!

I know a couple members of SolaraGuy read Sport Compact Car.

In the June 2008 issue, they do a pretty rigorous test of some of the top names in suspensions.
They don't say who a clear cut winner is, but by their tests, it looks like Tein outperforms JIC.
I kind of thought that JIC was the best. It looks like I was wrong.

This brings me to a NOOB question. If I were to get a Tein suspension, does that automatically lower my Solara? Or do I need to do something else?

What did they compare and how did they compare it? The tests could be biased you know, but as a noob, I wouldn't conclude that tein for the solara is the best based on the article. Afterall, the ride comfort/performance tradeoff is very subjective.

From what I've read, the Teins by itself lowers the car.

Yes, your car will be lowered no matter where the setting is on the coilover (whether it be fully lowered or fully raised).

Also, that review is kind of biased towards cars with actual aftermarket support. For us, we don't get crap from Tein, just the Super Street, probably the lowest on Tein's list of products. I already knew from years ago that the higher end Tein stuff is better than JIC's stuff (possibly barring the custom offerings).

But in the perspective of just Solara offerings, I'm sure JIC's FLT-A2 is waaaay better than the Tein Super Street.

Didn't get to read the issue...

Even though they're testing the same component, I still think it's an apples to oranges thing...

And yes you will be lowered :D
