Performance shops in NW?

Performance shops in NW?

Postby DjNoRhythm » Thu Jan 24, 2008 11:27 am

Greetings all,

Anyone know of a good performance shop that actually knows what they are doing in the Northwest? I would prefer some place close to Portland Or.

Thanks

Real performance is more than just installing parts. I need someone to handle the tuning for me as well.

with all your questions on what you want done to your car, you can either go to a shop and get it done RIGHT for more money, or learn it by yourself and screw up so many times just judging on what we think you know about cars.

Or 3rd choice, you can get CamryonBronze to install all your stuff and maybe if you are lucky, he'll teach you what to do to a solara instead of what NOT to do, the rest of the stuff that you need such as Hooked On Phonics and a brain, you'll just have to ask your daddy for that.

Damon: if you do choose to install such things in his car, do take pics, and give him a good laugh or 2 for me.

AND THE ABBREVIATION (if there is one) for PEOPLE IS "PPL" NOT "PLP"
WTF. :bad-words: :shocked!:  :bleep2: :ban:   :bleep: :boss:

feel free to come up. this isn't some e-thug crap. I'm tryin to give you advice dude even if I'm being harsh about it. with you posting up complete bullcrap threads without any point whatsoever, you think anyone on this forum is going to give a slight flying f*ck about you or your car? NO.
We have already tried to be somewhat patient with you in the past few threads, but come on dude, this crap is getting OLD, you are going to give someone in the forums advice, when you don't even know JACK what you are talking bout of cars in the first place??? :agrue:
I'm not far from you, I'm in Chicago dude, I'd be more than happy to meet up with you and knock some freakin' sense with you in the spring during the meets. And hey if you're lucky you just might turn around and I'll buy you a freakin' beer. As of right now though, you have a very long way to go. STOP POSTING, START SEARCHING, BEFORE POSTING, GET HOOKED ON PHONICS.
THE END!!

Hey guys,

I have reread the posts here in this thread a couple of times and can't see where d4008 was wrong.

If you have issues with him or anyone else, kindly take it to PM please.

As for installing and tuning, I can install the ASB myself. It really isn't that hard. What I want to do performance wise is rebuild my 4cyl and make it run a bit stronger. Don't want to race, just a bit more juice for passing and such. I think this may require a different cam/computer setup along with other stuff. I can tune a small-block chevy to make 600hp in my sleep. But, I have no problem admitting my ignorance when it comes to tuning the more modern Toyota engines for power.

Cheers,

^ i dont believe there is much available as far as cams go, that is generally the case with some toyota 4 cylinder engines. Do you have the 5sfe or the 2az? I know there isnt a whole lot of aftermarket for the 5sfe, but a lot of celica guys do some pretty decent builds on them. Check out alltrac.net for info on 5sfe builds. As for the 2az, talk to richard on here or check out scion tC parts- I believe some of them carry over.

The biggest question is budget and what you want the car to do. If you just want a slight increase in performance, a catback or full exhaust system may be beneficial to you along with an intake and a tuneable piggyback ecu such as the SAFC. Most of the helpful power modifications come from bolt ons to allow the engine to breath when it comes to toyotas. A better description of budget and goals will help with your search.
