nice mod, but its a little too risky for me. we get a lot of unexpected rain here in jersey. replacing the foglight every time it rains is not an option! kudos to you for the idea though!!

looks pretty nice, any chance of putting in a blow off valve so you wouldn't have to keep screwing in the fog light? any word on distribution or sale? any gains?

umm u mean *cough* air bypass valve*cough* akfahad...... by the way Danny would the bypass valve do the trick instead of installing and uninstalling the foglight? if yes are you going into production and how much would this cost? :D

Danny wrote:hey peter, i did actually notic a slight difference mainly after i have been driving for a whil and the engine compartmnet is really hot, if i step on it the power is still there. its pretty cool :) different sound too.

2nd question, yes they are for sale, the only problem is i know that there is not a huge demand for them, so larger companies will not produce these because its just not a wise investment to them but, i have a friend of mine that does fabricating, and he has designed this, to have minimal bends and awesome placement for maximum hp. It costed me 235.00 to have the first on made, that included 30$ to have ii polished by machine and flex hose and clamps and design air flow testing. Basically to make this short is that they are roughly going to cost 179.00 which includes polished aluminum pipe, flex hose, and hose clamps and a welded on bracket for stability. The nicest thing about this sytem i think is that first of you are no longer sucking in hot motor air, and possibly loosing hp, but you are getting ram cold air and definate power gains in every temperature and a deeper throatier sound. And if it starts to rain outside just put your fog light back in and in practically seals the filter away from any water. Oh by the way you dont have to take your fog light out in the first place.

An air bypass valve will work under normal circumstances, however, they won't work on forced induction engines.

hey guys girls heres my reply for all your questions that i have read so far..

1. for the air bypass valve question, yes you can use an air bypass valve in fact i ordered one but have been working the week and havent been able to get it installed.. The air bypass valve cost about 40 bucks from aem, and can work on any application including forced induction, also the bypass valve would install about 6 inches down off your throttle body. And will look much like the pics youve seen with them on.

2. second question, you dont have to remove your foglight, that is just what i did, you can leave it there and it will suck just as much air and will most likely work exactly the same, one of the main reasons my foglight is out is to show you all what it looks like. So for whoever though it was too risky, just leave your fog in there, it will work perfectly fine.

3. About the performance gains, i havent had a chacne to dyno it and i probably wont have a chance to anytime soon, but if you think of the concept behind cold air, and ram air, and look at dyno charts for similar cars, you should expect the same amount of power. Colder air will always make you engine happier.

4. As for as production, they are available, but the demand for them i dont think is all there, which makes this product a little pricier. This is made out of aluminum and polished to perfection and include a bracket to keep it in place, also includes flex hose and clamps. These are being fabricated in westminster, california. and can be shipped any where.
The current cost is 179.00 for the extension kit.

You should also think about what you just did to the piping. You made an extension, which changes the behavior of the air inside of the tubing. If it was TRUELY this easy, Cattman would have their CAI done with already, but it isn't.
