i made a stupid mistake tonight while trying to install my UPFD CAE. long story made short, one of the linings of my filter got kind of crooked and the mesh lining ripped a bit. should i be worried about the effects of it? or am i ok?

I think you are ok as long as you dont have an actually hole on the filter. if you are still worry, you can get a women stocking to cover up the filter.
