Got TRD struts and Tein springs installed. Getting the clunking noise in the front passenger strut. Did you guys figure out what is up? Bushing? Bearing? Updates would be nice in this matter. Thanks,

sam

Edit: Reading about bushings right now. What is the bushing? Is it the bearing or are those two different parts? I have the DIY diagrams from the strut replacement thread but can't seem to figure out what is the bushing.

Explanation please, thanks. Need to get this fixed.

I'm doing some R&D to fix the problem currently. Apparantly with the TRD Struts....they might have came with some kind of rubber bushing. The stock, Tokico, and KYB struts are pretty much direct replacements. The TRD Struts has a much wider shaft compared to replacements. So in turn it needs some extra part to sit properly with the stock components.

Sorry milt! Friend finally had some free time and we did the install together for free. It was fun and very educational. So how would you have prevented this from happening? We need to know so we can get this fixed.

I know some other guys are experimenting some stuff to see if they could get it to work, but Mark already told me that it had something to do with a bushing.

Exactly what bushing? Where do I install it? Where do I buy it? INformation would be great. Solarasweetie, you ever get yours fixed?

I know three or four other solaraguys need help with this. Detailed info would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

at the top of the strut where the shaft first goes down in diameter... rubber = failure because it can get torn up.. im thinking that a rubber bushing plus a large washer may help solve that problem..

not sure just yet

salinas mark care to chime in with more info?
