Front Brake "semi" kinda sorta performance upgrade

Alright ya'll. I picked up some parts today, and I'm going to get the 1996 Toyota Camry V6 With ABS calipers tomorrow. I have sourced some caliper brackets and I'll be stuffing them with hawk performance pads. Probably going to drain and refill my brake system since the fluid is 10 years old and I'll be having my factory rotors machined and I'll be reusing them.

if you want to paint the calipers red, now's the time to do it.

and since they're off the car, you can let them cure, and put a few good coats of paint on it.

unless you're not into the red caliper look.

btw, i'm gonna want to see pics when you finish it up

Pics will up within the hour, Not finished yet, but soon. Still have to order the pads and have my rotors machined. BUT...I've got caliper brackets off of a 1995 Toyota Avalon, and all new mounting hardware, picked up the calipers today new reman calipers which are nice. I found a good deal on eBay for 35 dollars, EBC green stuff pads for the Camry V6, but I'm not sure if I need to order Avalon pads since thats where I got my brackets. Still doing some research on that.

I got a set of 4cyl brackets for free, and thought they would work...but they won't. Heres why: (V6 on left, 4 cyl on right)


A few hours later... after some sanding and what not




And all done, for now. Waiting for my pads.

indeed, very nice... are you going to paint the calipers red or leave them silver? IMO it would look great either way

I'm running the Gen3 V6 twin piston calipers on my Gen4. They stop a lot better than stock with better pedal feel! Everything bolted up fine, no mods needed to be done on the calipers or car. I'm running the stock rotors too.

Great! Thanks for posting. I am glad to hear I'll stop better.. I'm kinda hard on the pedal. Can't wait to get them on. Just gotta have my rotors machined. And one other thing, do the gen 4's and gen 1's use Dot 3 or 4?

but dot 4 and up is also backwards compatible

Got a question.
Found a caliper on Ebay....
It says it's fro the driver rear of an ES300.
Is that wrong??
