VVME HID Installation? *UPDATED*

Postby mazen222 » Tue Apr 14, 2009 10:10 am

make sure that when you inserted the bulbs into the headlight unit, that u aime the 3 tabs coming out of the side of the bulbs into the 3 holes inside the headlight unit. I had that similar output before i realized that they were unprperly installed.

Do not remove the sheild, imo

Get hid for your fogs and you will be realy impressed. The combo of hid headlights and fogs definatley makes a huuge difference.

When you say regular bulb, do you mean a non-HID bulb?

I have an ebay kit, 5000k.

i just remembered somthing i had a problem with when i first got my kit i was trying to figure out how to get that rubber thing to fit and i took off the outside shield of the bulb and when i put it back on it was on backwards and the light output sucked so i took it apart again and made sure that the two shields where on the same side

This makes me want to do my install from scratch, the first time was a rush job. Good points have been mentioned that I might have overlooked.

do you remember if the hid shield was facing up or down? I had the hid tabs lined up with headlight spaces, and itseems dim. so i spinned them around (180) and seems brighter. looks like it allows more light to escape.

Check your ground. Find a clean unpainted spot on the frame.

What temperature HID did you pick for your fogs? Same as headlights?

U guys had difficulty installin HID ? hmm weird, my friend he installed for me took him less than 5 mins, just the headlight, its bright and clear especially when its snowy in the winter, no need HID fog lights waste ur money. at night its look nice and better with normal fog lights, White Head and Yellow Nose, did you guys notice that ?

It was my first time with limited tools and the instructions were in Chinese. Sounds like your friend has done it before and/or is mechanically inclined (most likely the reason you had him do it).

The normal fogs provide plenty of light output, but IMO overall "look" the OEM fog looks dull compared to the "whiteness" of the HID. I prefer uniformed look or a white/blue combo.
