You all should check with my good friend Jason Burtman at www.BurtmanIndustries.com He has great prices and be sure to tell him I sent you. He can get anything along these lines.

hsakuragi,
let me know if you find what your looking for, you said you were looking for a black trim to replace the factory one. let me know if you find something that has other colors, otherwise, might just have to manually paint them.

Akfahad,

There actually were black trim from the factory, I saw it on a 02 solara stick v6 SE while I was at dealer but i ended up with the 03. I painted my wood to sivler, but it looks fugly..so that's why i'm looking for black trims.

But anyway, really no one want to get the trims?

I'm ready to get one!!

Carbon Fiber dash kit

Postby Kristi » Wed Jan 07, 2004 2:32 pm

Hi there, I just bought a '02 Solara, SLE V6, black w/gray int.

So far, so good, I love the car!!! Although I'm not too thrilled with the wood trim. It kind of takes away from the sporty look of the car.

Well, I too was also looking online for a carbon fiber kit to cover the existing factory wood trim. Although it seems as though they have everything else to cover or add to the dash, but not to cover the factory wood trim.

I noticed that people were painting those pieces. What kind of paint do you use? Or is the a kit out there to cover those three pieces?

Any help would be great!!!

i don't think there is a kit to cover those 3 pieces, i've been looking for a while too. one of the members, sto, did end up painting his an aluminum silver finish, which is what i've been looking for, this is what he wrote:

"its a four dollar can of import color paint from pepboys, make sure u get toyota silver. sto"

hope that helps any, if at all.

Just buy a can of spray paint of the color u choose. Take off the pieces. Sand, clean, then spray. Putting a clear coat is good too.

it is 4 peices. I'm prety sure you have to do some light sanding, then spray it with some kind of primer before you can spray it silver. Better of taking it to a body shop. It can't cost that much to paint, nor shoudl it take all that long.

I have the Tan interior...
i was thinking about the carbon fiber.. but i dont know anymore.

i currently have the wood trim kit that matches the 99-01 factory trim. but i want to take them off..cuz i have the 02-03 factory trim which is lighter then the 99-01's. Im also thinking of getting the maybe the lighter set to match it better or should i get a diff style such as the carbon fiber.

any suggestions?????????

Should we start a new thread for the GB that we can get a better head count..????

I also have the Tan interior but have a black leather steering wheel wrap. I am also kind of overwhelmed with options! I either have to go classy (Wood) or sporty (CF) and paint over the burl wood trim in my car. Any suggestions?

Kenny, get the blue to match your car!! **SIKE** I think the carbon fiber light would look better on your car. It matches the more aggressive look your car has now. I think the solid colors are a little plain to me.
Are the carbon fiber light and dark switched on that picture? Because the light colored one is dark and the dark colored one is light. I'm must be trippen. :drinking: The real carbon fiber kind of stands out more though. :fadein:
