Yeah, don't make upgrades if the budget is tight, if something goes wrong you might end up with a poor set-up than what you wished for.

Oh God!!!! Can you newbies just listen?!?! For the last time, if you want to lower your car, get aftermarket struts & lowering springs or buy coilovers...thats it! Stock struts + lowering springs will work but how long all depends on the condition of your struts and you'll most likely destroy your strut mounts along with your struts. Finally, riding on blown struts is like riding on flat tires so yes, you could technically ride your car like that but should you? Absolutely not!
