Eric, so we would be using the same size pads then just the placement of the caliper is moved out? Do you think you can price me a front pair of cross drilled and slotted rotors? If you can please count me in!

count me in on the brackets... if we want to replace calipers for say a willwood 4 piston designed for 13" with the appropriate thickness... does it just connect right in... or will the master cyl. not be able to push enough fluid or too much of how does that work?

Eric, thanks for the patience, I'm 1 step closer  . So if I understand correctly, you are saying the brackets should be around $140? Then I could just go buy off the shelf 13" rotors and use my existing pads? I was trying to figure out the math. It looks like Raybestos rotors x 2 = $160 + brackets @$140 = $300, correct? So we are just talking about the front? Would you do the back also? Sorry for the silly questions.

Thanks for the simple analogy Yanks it helped. I'm actually pretty good at following mechanical principals, I just don't know all the parts. I'm pretty sure I got the concept of needing updated calipers and steel brake lines also. If I don't change the current pad size, keeping the rest (aside from brackets) stock is fine but if I upgrade the size of the pad, there is more friction and it would require more force from the caliper and better quality brake lines.(?)

Do you order the rotors for a certain car?

Thanks, -JoeB

You don't need larger rotors for the rear as most breaking is done with the front brakes. Hence its larger size.

You could always move the front rotors to the rear so it wont make the front ones seem grossly oversized correct?

I'm going today to see about getting rotors, so I can put together complete packages.

The fronts will not fit on the rear, the rear have a drum built into them for the parking brake. I will be looking at the rear also.

The brackets and brake lines would be completely different. You could have a problem with brake bios which they make adj. proportioning valves for. Basically your talking about a very expensive brake upgrade when you start doing calipers. I'm going to look at the rears using caliper relocation 1st and get one kit complete before starting on a kit using aftermarket calipers.

i would love to get a big brake kit, but i also swap out my 17s for the stock 15 alloys in the winter. does that limit my choice on size? (or eliminate it altoghether?)
