Ultra Racing 4-point lower brace (Update/new parts pg 3)

did it change the driving characteristics? tighten up understeer? create too much oversteer?

it looks pretty decent though.

Very nice dude, anybody want to set up this group buy. Seems like there's a decent amount of interest, and toyotanation haven't heard about this yet. I'll be in definitely.

Thanks for the feedback and comments everybody, it feels good to help out the Solara/Camry community in any way.

ToyoSol/Fern, handling's pretty nice, and steering tightened up quite a bit too. It seems to contribute a bit to oversteer, but hopefully I'll get it balanced once I get on a Whiteline front sway/TRD rear sway.

funboy102 & Kevin: Yeah, Johnny's Viet, & very proud hahaha

funboy102: It wouldn't be impossible without a lift, but it did make it easier (and able to see what we were doing when cutting into the plastic fender liner)

Adam/ASG14: Weather hasn't been on my side, but I'll get you those measurements ASAP.

And as far as under-car clearance, I busted out a tape measure and measured ~2.8-3" from the the lips of the mounting points/bar itself to the ground. This is with my own suspension setup and wheels (Tein S-Tech/Tokico HP/18" wheels/225/40/18 tires), so factor in your own slight varainces and you'll have an idea of clearance.

One more thing, the other night I got a reality check when I took a semi-steep speed bump the way I usually did before the bar (one wheel on, other wheel off the edge of the bump) and ATE it :( . Some scrapes to the center section, but the overall integrity of the bar was just fine. As much as possible, take speed bumps head-on with the bar installed folks!

I'm dropped on K-Sports so it looks like my Whiteline FSB, and TRD RSB are going to be enough for me. Thanks for the heads up!

DANG, got it chewed up already. They should make a skidplate on the bottom to protect those stuff.

Im in the process of designing a rear diffuser for the solara. MAybe if that goes well with material wise, i may look into a skidplate for the sensitive parts down under.

Bar looks like a solid idea, but I think I probably would have passed on it as well due to clearance... Ahh, who am I kidding, I would have bought it and powdercoated it  Props for being the test subject!

If anyone is interested in the bar, Evan at NextGen has set up a group buy, and is looking for willing buyers. Check out the thread here: http://nextgentuning.forumotion.com/group-buy-f17/group-buy-ultra-racing-4-point-lower-front-bar-ur-la4-366-t38.htm
