VVME HID Installation? *UPDATED*

Postby Ransom8707 » Wed Nov 12, 2008 7:09 pm

I actually removed the headlight shield and it improved my light output but on the other hand there is more glare for oncoming traffic.
Try if you wanna take out the headlight shield and try raising the light pattern up for a better view of the road.

Hmmm..I was thinking of doing that OR removing/modding the shield that came with the HID. Do you have a picture of your output?

my output sucked, but i parked close the a brick wall and adjusted it with the screw driver so they both aim at the same level.

In case you didnt know, there is a litle spot behind each head light case where you can slip a cross screw driver and turn to adjust the aim (higher or lower).

They are bright, but since we dont have projectors, people expect a luxury car output, which is not the case.

if you want to notice a nice output, you need to get hid for the fogs too. it makes a biiig difference. I was realy happy when i installed my fogs hid

I don't expect luxury output for $100 bucks, but at least blind me a bit lol. Right now, it's the equivalent to a blue flashlight.

I've had the kit for months now and am just getting around to installing it.... from reading your posts i pretty much know where the ballasts should go.. just a quick question on wiring though..

1. how did you route all the wiring from one side to the other.. is there a preferred to way stay away from all the heated areas..

Thank You.

I just followed the front frame and zip tied, no heat issues. I'll see if I can take some pics when I get home from work.

i put hids in my headlights and when i angled them right all the signs on the side of the road where bright as fuk but i noticed the most light out put from my fogs when i put hid in i reccomend doing both it is worth it.btw i found that aim is very important and from your picture the drivers headlight is way to low it is advised to have your headlights adjusted every 30 000 miles so you probably didnt notice it being so off with only hologen good luck

did you remove the light shield within OEM headlight housing? Because my HIDs are far from bright.

me too i have heard this before, the peeps i talked to say you need the high dollar units 300 bucks or more to make a difference, i had the time to do a hid swap and after seeing the lights in person i felt they were not worth the money

i didnt remove anything i got an ebay kit for 109 but i ended up replacing the telescoping bulb with a reg bulb because all the shields on those bulbs block half the light output and if i do ever get a ticket i will just put the telescoping bulbs back in for inspection my bulbs are 6000k im not surewhat you have but if you went for a higher kalvin you sacrifice light output for color
