here is a some more pict of retro in progress incase people have no access to HIDplanet.com
1. bake headlight, preheat to 200 degree F
2. i put a piece of garden brick on the grill to avoid headlight to metal contact
3. baking headlight at 200 degree F for 15 minutes
4. lense came off easily with a few pry, nothing melt =D>
5. trying on a shroud that has high beam reflector bowl as well
6. fitment ok at front, but back of headlight need some cut for the projector
7. bixenon RS6 projector
7.1. bixenon RS6 projector wall shot beam pattern at 25 ft.
8. RX330 AFS projector
8.1 RX300 AFS projector wall shot beam pattern at 25 ft
9. Both projector is powered by toyota ballast, philips D2S bulb
i chose the bixenon RS6 projector becaue personally i think it outperform the RX300 in term brightness.
headlight with projector mounted on original reflector bowl, no headlight lense put on yet
i copied JnC's mounting idea
i believe i can do roational adjustment and up/down with in the reflector/projector itself, but i can do left/right, up/down adjustment using the oem headlight screws.
when i powered it on, i saw a lot of glare on the wall, anyone have an idea how to contain the light within the projector, glare is due to light escape from projector, hitting the reflector.
i accidently aquired a pair of LS430 projector, the width is twice as my sh!tty RS6
anyway, resume my retro here
too much glare on oem reflector housing, so i paint the whole thing to black
here is my custom made shroud, $7.xx for twin pack at walmart, plus a $4.xx bezels cofee cup also from walmart.
this is the bottom view of the headlight, i drill a hole for future rotational adjustment, thanks JnC again.
