I was wondering if once the CAI comes out will you need an S-AFC to make it run better?

I have spoken to icrazychris and the whole reason that the CAI is taking so long is so that it will work with a stock setup. It will not need a S-AFC. A S-AFC is really only useful with forced induction or heavy heavy mods (which aren't availabe for the solara platform). CAI, exhaust and little things like that shouldnt affect your car that much if Cattman gets the CAI right, which i'm sure they will. Thats what testing is for

Where did you get your headers from and how much were they?
Do you have the S-AFC 1 or 2, the new one.

I recently purchased an Apexi SAFC II from supramania.com and found all the necessary instructions I needed from the Apexi USA website.

i installed mine myself for free. costs for tuning depend on the shop you go to to have it done. the shop ive gone to told me they like tuning with the SAFC because it's straight forward and easy. they charge $150 per hour.

you don't need to know too much to install yourself. by no means am i an electrician or anything. you just need to be sure you understand what wires on your car's computer you need to splice and which to cut and be careful not to get them confused. (they are color coded). all the info you need to do it is here on SolaraGuy and you'll want a Hayne's manual to cross reference.

also when you attach the SAFC yourself just be sure to do a good job so the wires don't come loose. that can screw up your car. soldering is suggested. (not hard to do either, $20 of tools/supplies and a little experimentation and a few minor burns).

good luck!

P.S. all my info is based on my experience with the SAFC 2. i'm not familiar with the other models but im sure it's the same deal.
