Newbie installing GReddy Evo Exhaust

Postby Guest » Thu Sep 25, 2003 10:55 pm

I'm a newbie on installing exhaust. I just bought the greddy evo for my 02 4 banger. I did a search and everyone says that it's easy to install by just bolting on, but I seem to be having trouble...

All the pics I see of the greddy evo show 2 pipes and the muffler, mine only came with 1 mid pipe and muffler, am I missing one?!

How do I exactly mount the exhaust when I all see are those hangers sticking out, those are going to hold the exhaust up?

That metal plate that came with it goes between the muffler and the mid pipe?

What are the order of steps to remove and install using ramps only? Raise the front, unbolt the mid pipe from the cat, then raise back and unbolt muffler. Then raise front and put mid pipe on, then raise back and put muffler on?

it never came in three pieces, just the mid pipe and muffler.

if you would just line it up, it should maatch the correct distance from cat to back of the car.

the hangers, they only can get in and out one way, so use WD40 for them to get in and out.

i have no idea about your "metal plate," you are talking about. how about you register and provide us with a picture of this plate you are referring to?

as for installation, unbolt all bolts. the muffler/midpipe should still be able to be suspended on the hooks, piece by piece take them out.
if you have access to have all wheels off the floor, that would be best. but if you dont, work on the back to the front to take off the stock stuff. back track what you did last to put aftermarket stuff on first.

in short. yes. those hangars will let the cat-back dangle, but it'll hold.

you should have gotten 2. one to go between the muffler and mid section, and the other to go between the mid section and cat. well, that's what i got with my JIC cat-back anyway. maybe yours is a different story.

i was able to do the exhaust without even raising the car on stands. you should have enough room under the car.

krooked Solara, you must be either SUPER thin or be a basketball player.
haha... i'd be funny if you see someone like me attacking that job in such way.

im assuming you changed you exhaust system when the car was not lowered?

it would make life easier if the car is above ground though
