Steering wheel extention

Steering wheel extention

Postby AutoBlasian » Mon Dec 06, 2010 9:55 pm

So, I am 5' 10 and personally I prefer to have my legs kinda stretched so that they dont get all cramped against the dash.

Now, one way I solve this is buy moving the seat back (duh) hahaha, but the only problem is that then I cant reach the wheel comfortably

so here is the problem and the question. Is there anyway to extend the length of my stock steering, or do I have to get a new steering wheel because I would prefer to keep the air bag (actually, my mom would prefer me to keep the airbag, I would like to get a new wheel all together.

Short arms lol!

lol seriously I've heard about wheel spacers, throttle body spacers, but never heard of steering wheel spacers. I don't think they exist

Aftermarket steering wheel plus hub extender.

It exists for several cars, but I've never seen the combo in a Solara.

I'm 5'11, and don't have problems with the wheel/seat. Then again, we all contend with different limb lengths and the such. Hopefully you come to a resolution that doesn't cost you too much.

i'm over 6' and I got no problems either. I like to have my seats all the way back but if you're having short-arm syndrome maybe you'll need to sit up a little more. My ideal position is the seat a little closer to the pedals but the back rest reclined more. You can also adjust the height of the steering wheel to experiment and see what works.

haha yeahyeah mig0s, you said you were sized like an NFL player right? Tall and heavy. Just telling Blasian that 5'10 really isn't that tall to be having fitment issues inside the car... unless he's 5 feet of legs.
