Need an opinion about my Kaminari kit...

So I took the body it off my gen1 vert recently. I wanted to send it in to my bodyshop for paint so that it looks a little more complete, and OEM-ish.

My question is this:

For all those who have this kit on their gen1's, what are you guys doing with the middle piece on the back bumper? I know a lot of you left it black, but what if your car is already black (as it is in my case). Would it look better to color match it, or just leave it in it's plain form?

Even though your car is black, don't paint it. It will look better. Trust me.

I would leave it. It has the rough finish, I don't think it is meant to match. It may protect from the heat of the exhaust too, not sure how well the paint would adhere/hold up on it.

the flat black color it comes in gives it the effect that there is nothng actually there which is what gives it the sporty look. if it all matches i think it would take away from that. did that make sense?

I'll leave it unpainted and see how it looks. When I sent the kit to the bodyshop, I purposely left that rear middle section at home. I never thought about the exhaust though...that's a good point.

I just got the kit back today, and I LOVE it.....SO much cleaner than not having done.

I left the rear center piece unpainted, so we'll see how that turns out once i put it all back on the car.

Nick... I left mine unpainted... It gives it more of an aggressive look I find.

Post pic of your car so I can make up my mind. Spend tax money for kit or DSM thread.
