I am now selling Custom Polyurethane V6 Motor Mounts

Postby trd4life » Thu Jan 07, 2010 9:05 am

Years ago i tried very hard to have several companies make these mounts for me and had no luck at all. With the help of a close friend, i have made that dream a reality. I now am offering TRD4life custom poly motor mounts for the 1mz-fe and 3vz-fe V6 camry, solara, avalon, ES300.

For the serious Camry/Solara performance enthusiast I bring you polyurethane motor mounts for the 92-01 Camry, Avalon, Solara, Sienna, Camry, Lexus ES300 . The stock Toyota soft engine mounts allow a great deal of motor movement...so much that autocrossers and track day racers have complained to me about high speed shifts that can be vague and difficult. These mounts dramatically reduce motor movement for much more precise operation of your shifts and much more direct application of power to the ground. These poly mounts are a must for high hp setups or if you hate wheel hop like i do.

Currently available in Yellow 75A Durometer only.

1mz and 3vz Front motor mount $200

1mz and 3VZ 5 speed trans mount $200

1mz and 3VZ Rear Motor mount bushing $175

1mz and 3VZ Auto trans mount $180.

These are made on a special order basic only approx 3 weeks from the time you order until the time they arrive to you (these are not made in the u.s.) I keep a couple in stock at times, but its hard to keep a lot of this custom stuff in stock.

You pay shipping and paypal fees.

Excuse my ignorance on the subject, but can't you just buy liquid polyurethane online in different levels of stiffness and fill the mounts? I'm sure these are more effective, but my cousin just did that for his drive shaft and trans mounts on his Audi. He didn't remove the stock poly material completely though, he just filled all of the gaps in the stock pieces. A lot of 240 owners use this method as well for engine mounts.

Nice to see a solution, though. It sounds like Ryan has quite the build in progress!

Its more complicated than it seems. i surely would not attempt this myself lol. although yes i have seen some people do it themselves. I'll let King chime in on the manufacturing process. A huge advantage here as well is that i am sourcing all the mounts and not charging anyone a core charge. So no down time, no need to remove you mount on your car and attempt to modify it , slap this one in and be done with it.

I've also heard of ppl making these themselves, but I don't have the time for that with the swap and all. Plus, I like not having to tear my stock mounts up. Thanks again, Gabe!

For a street setup, filling your rubber mounts with polyurethane is usually pretty effective, but in the end the core is still rubber and it will still flex and break eventually. Also, without a sandblasting process, the polyurethane bonding is not perfect either. I've had my bushings that I made from 3m window weld for my dogbones pop off even though I had sanded it down and cleaned it before filling it.

To add, the front mounts are cut in half, sand blasted, then the industrial grade polyurethane is poured in and the mount welded back together. There is no other proper way of doing it- because of it's design, even burning won't get all the rubber out and the new polyurethane poured in will not adhere properly.

I'm a big fan of do it yourself, but if you run big power on a fwd car, these are a must! I get no wheel hop and no engine movement at all! These aren't cheap, but they are well worth the money!

^ did you replace it yourself? or did greg do it for you?

I've never replaced mine (just packed it with polyurethane for now- want to change that, but no time yet), but did he have to take the entire mount assembly off the car to press it in and out?

And did he part the tranny to get the entire mount assembly off?

I can't help but think that the colors look like playground equipment. I know it's different durometers, but its funny looking. Cool upgrade though. :D

I actually had a mechanic do it for me, he had to take out the whole right side axle, and yeah the whole assembly had to come off.
