Bump Stops
Anyone using aftermarket/upgraded bump stops? I went looking and the only thing I could find were some universal ones (which is fine). I measured the piston on my front struts and it came out a hair smaller than 7/8" and the universal ford ones (energy suspension p/n 4.6103g) are 7/8" i.d. - close enough for me!
my only worry is that they're kinda short - just over 1.5" tall. I never paid attention to how much was left of the bump stops when i cut them on my 95, but i think it was more than 2". maybe i'm wrong? anyone have any stock front bump stops they could measure?

autozone has these (special order only) for $12 a pair. since they're special order only, i don't get any employee discount on them. find them by searching for 1995 mustang. then again that price, i may get them anyway. that's way cheaper than the stockers from toyota - $16 each!
i also learned during my search that the only difference between energy suspension red and black parts is that the black ones are impregnated with graphite so they won't squeak like the red ones do. definitely a good thing imho, esp since most bushings aren't visible most of the time anyway.
